Current Research Project: Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISE) Phase II - Thompson Rivers University will receive a $549,135 grant from Employment and Social Development Canada.

Title: Building WISE for Black and Racialized Canadians: Evidence from British Columbia and Alberta

Summary: The project aims at filling a gap in our understanding in the programs and practices WISEs use to engage with and impact Black and racialized Canadians in British Columbia and Alberta. The research goals are to map WISE organizations and their clients; understand the impact on Black and racialized Canadians of WISE programs; and collaboratively develop and assess a WISE program improvement for Black and racialized Canadians.

Research Interests

Sal's research has focused in gender and diversity in leadership positions, organizations, and entrepreneurship. Recently, he is also studying organizational culture, change and growth in social enterprises; and the role of Work Integration Programs (WIP) on the wellbeing of marginalized groups.

Sal is an active member of the Innovation for Social Good (ISG) research cluster at TRU. The ISG research cluster brings together faculty and students from a range of disciplines to create new knowledge about innovation that improves lives, organizations, and communities.
