Start the week off with movement and breathwork sessions with Counselor Andrea Brassard. Her approaches to wellness are varied and diverse, tapping into the power of community and connection, relationships, self-compassion, and personal growth. Stolen Sisters Support Gathering
Indigenous Student Services, Indigenous Education, Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response, Counselling and the Wellness Centre are collaborating to provide a safe and supportive space for students, staff, and faculty in OLARA. Developed in response to a request from Indigenous students, after discussions with Métis and Secwepemc Elders and in recognition of Canada’s staggering rates of violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, this recurring event aims to explore the 231 Calls to Justice from Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and develop opportunities for reflection, healing and action.
There is a cap of 8-10 participants. Email abrassard@tru.ca to register to attend.
All sessions take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in OLARA.
