Resources for Students
Thompson Rivers University (TRU) has one of the largest Indigenous student populations among BC post-secondary institutions.
TRU offers services and supports designed to enhance Indigenous students’ post-secondary experiences. The School of Nursing works closely with the TRU Aboriginal Students Team to build on students’ strengths and connect with academic, personal, social, cultural, and financial supports, as needed, to promote their success in nursing.
The School of Nursing builds on the institutional commitment of TRU to be the university of choice for Indigenous students, and is committed to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. The School of Nursing aims to build inter-cultural understanding, providing culturally inclusive and responsive education with a focus on Indigenous research and practice including recruitment, retention, and success of Indigenous students.
