Registration
Since inception almost a decade ago, the Privacy and Security Conference has brought together a diverse group of leaders, professionals, educators, researchers, and students. Hosted by Thompson Rivers University (TRU), the event has evolved into a dynamic and impactful gathering. As with any long-standing initiative, adapting to changing circumstances is sometimes necessary.
This year, TRU is introducing a modest registration fee. While the conference was previously free, this aligns with standard practice and reflects feedback from past attendees, who largely felt the event’s quality justifies a small charge. The fee also helps address a recurring issue: a high number of no-shows, which affects planning and leads to wasted resources in space, catering, and logistics. A financial commitment should improve attendance accuracy and resource management.
To encourage continued student participation, TRU offers two registration options: (1) Discount Student Rate – Includes all keynotes, breakout sessions, meals, and refreshments. (2) No-Fee Sessions Only Pass – Allows access to breakout sessions and the sponsor hall only, excludes Grand Hall Presentations, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. Ideal for students with class commitments. Includes one free post-conference workshop or demo.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to sustain the Privacy and Security Conference for years to come.
