In-course Awards, Bursaries & Scholarships

Please note that bursaries (need based awards) are only available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

The following applications are open to full-time TRU students:

Graduate Bursaries Apr 15 May 31 Enrolled full-time in a graduate program.
Law Bursaries Aug 15 Sep 30 Enrolled full-time in the Juris Doctor program. Please note that all Law scholarships and awards are faculty nominated and do not require a myTRU application.
Undergraduate Bursary/Awards

The general fall bursary/award funding is disbursed by early December based on applications submitted earlier in the term. All winter semester awards are nominated by faculty, and therefore do not require an application.
Aug 15 Sep 30 Either a returning student enrolled full-time in an undergrad degree or diploma OR a new student enrolled in a certificate or vocational program

Returning full-time Open Learning students please email studentawards@tru.ca during the application period and ask that an app be opened for you.
Trades Students (Summer) Aug 15 Sep 30 Enrolled in a Trades Foundation program only.
Must start between May 1 - Aug 9.
Trades Students (Fall late start) Oct 1 Dec 31 Enrolled in a Trades Foundation program only.
Fall trades students with start dates up to late Sep should use the general Undergraduate application. Late fall start dates should use this application.
Trades Students (Winter) Jan 1 Feb 28 Enrolled in a Trades Foundation program only.
Must start between Jan 1 - Apr 30.

Indigenous Students Application Apr 1 Jun 1 For current Indigenous (First Nation, Metis, Inuit) students with the ability to provide proof of status/Metis citizenship. Currently used for the Kecmens te sqlew (Indigenous Incentive Fund)
