Amanda Winters

BA (TRU), JD (Calgary)

Amanda Winters is a coach of the Family Negotiation Moot.

Amanda is an associate with Farris in Vancouver, where she practices with the Family and Estate Litigation groups. She represents clients in both family and estate matters, and has a particular interest in matters where these two areas of law intersect. Amanda takes a results-oriented approach to litigation, including negotiating or mediating settlements when in her clients’ interests. She has represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as courts in other Canadian jurisdictions. Amanda appears frequently in Supreme Court Chambers. She has conducted trials in Provincial Court and Supreme Court, as well as conducted hearings in the Court of Appeal.

Amanda was called to the British Columbia bar in March 2014. Before joining Farris, Amanda clerked at the British Columbia Court of Appeal and worked for a large regional law firm in Vancouver with a focus on family and civil litigation.

On a personal note, Amanda grew up in Kamloops, B.C. before making Vancouver her home. In her previous lives, Amanda was an English teacher overseas, a synchronized swimming coach, and a movie columnist for an independent newspaper. When not at the office, Amanda spends her spare time with her husband Jesse exploring Vancouver’s latest and greatest restaurants, and getting lost in books from her eclectic “must read” list.
