Letters of support must be emailed directly by the referee. The paper original is not required.

Ken Lepin Graduate Student Award

8 awards valued at $6,600 each

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be entering first or second year of a full-time campus-based graduate studies program

Deadline: August 15

The Ken Lepin Graduate Student Awards will be given based on outstanding academic achievement in prior course work and research. The selection will also take into account leadership activities and active involvement in the university community. Preference in descending order to students who are from the Kamloops region, are from British Columbia, and who attended TRU for their undergraduate degree. At least one award will be given to a student in the Master of Nursing program.

Complete all sections of the application including:

  1. A personal statement (in the online application - not to exceed 300 words) indicating leadership activities and academic goals. Areas of leadership or involvement can include student government, volunteer positions, community and religious organizations, sports and athletics, music and art, clubs, and any activity that has developed you as a person and has meaningfully impacted others
  2. A letter of support from an academic or business reference (emailed as PDF - not to exceed 200 words)
  3. Your curriculum vitae and official transcripts (emailed as PDF)

Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate Entrance Award

8 awards valued at $6000 each

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:

  • be entering first year of full-time graduate studies in a Master of Science in Environmental Science, Master of Education, or Master of Science in Data Science program

Deadline: June 1

The Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate Entrance Awards will be given based on outstanding academic achievement in prior course work and research. The selection will also take into account leadership activities.

Complete all sections of the application including:

  1. A personal statement (in the online application - not to exceed 300 words) indicating leadership activities and academic goals. Areas of leadership or involvement can include student government, volunteer positions, community and religious organizations, sports and athletics, music and art, clubs, and any activity that has developed you as a person and has meaningfully impacted others
  2. A letter of support from an academic or business reference (emailed as PDF - not to exceed 200 words)
  3. Your curriculum vitae and official transcripts (emailed as PDF)                                                                                                                         

BC Graduate Scholarships

4 awards valued at $15,000 each

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be entering first or second year of a full-time campus-based graduate studies program (with an emphasis on first year)
  • demonstrate academic excellence

Deadline: December 1

BC Graduate Scholarships are given to the best and brightest graduate students who are leaders in their fields. Eligible graduate programs will be research intensive and professional with emphasis, but not exclusive, focus on disciplines related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants.

Complete all sections of the application including:

  1. A personal statement indicating research interest (in the online application - not to exceed 300 words)
  2. A letter of support from an academic reference (emailed as PDF - not to exceed 200 words)
  3. Your curriculum vitae and official transcripts (emailed as PDF)

TRU MBA Entrance Award

Up to 15 awards per year

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • apply for admission to the Master of Business Administration program
  • enrol in a full-time course load

The TRU MBA Entrance Awards will be given to applicants who show exceptional promise for success in and after their MBA studies. Recipients will be selected based on their admission application to the MBA program and will be notified by the program at the time of acceptance.
