Innovation for Social Good

Innovation for Social Good

The Innovation for Social Good (ISG) research cluster brings together faculty and students from a range of disciplines to create new knowledge about innovation that improves lives, organizations and communities. ISG promotes TRU’s strategic change goal of leading in community research and scholarship by engaging business, economics and other researchers in community-centred knowledge seeking, knowledge creating and creative inquiry, focused on social and environmental good.

The ISG cluster is currently working on three major externally funded projects:

  1. a study of Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISE) programs funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC);
  2. a study of social entrepreneurship training for Persons with Disabilities, funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Canada (SSHRC);
  3. and a study of Social Enterprise Leadership and Human Resource Management, also funded by SSHRC.
