Disability accommodations

Students with disabilities who are convocating or persons with disabilities who are a member of the convocating student’s family should email ceremonies@tru.ca.

Free parking is available in Lot N (see map below) for graduates and guests on convocation day. Shuttles will run between Lot N and the convocation venue, the Tournament Capital Centre Fieldhouse.

Enter campus via the West Gate and take University Drive to Lot N.

Ceremony duration

The ceremony is about 90 minutes.

Limited seating

Each graduate is allowed to bring six guests. Tickets are not required but seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Arrive early to ensure you're seated.

There is reserved seating for disabled, elderly and other guests who have mobility impairments and one or two accompanying guests. Arrive early to find suitable parking and seating.

Live video

All convocation ceremonies are broadcast live online for those unable to attend.

  • Broadcasts normally begin five or 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • We list all times in Pacific Time.
  • Recordings of the live broadcast are available shortly after each ceremony.

New alumni welcome reception

Graduands and guests are invited to join us in the TRU Gymnasium for light refreshments after the ceremony. There is no charge.

Frames, memorabilia and souvenirs

The Bookstore in the Campus Activity Centre carries frames and other graduation memorabilia. You can also shop for TRU souvenirs.

Roses for grads

In June, only fresh roses are available for purchase on the day of the ceremony. The TRU Alumni Association uses the proceeds from the sale of roses for student programs. These include mentoring that matches employers with students. Pre-order to make sure you don't miss out.
