Accessibility requirements

TRU is committed to ensuring this event is accessible for everyone. Please take a moment to fill out the accessibility form if you or your guest(s) require accessibility accommodations.

If ASL interpreter is required, please fill out the accessibility form before April 14, 2024.

There are designated accessible parking spots at the Tournament Capital Centre. TCC visitors displaying a valid disabled parking permit can park for free and do not need to register their licence plate. Those requiring parking for more than two hours can make arrangements with staff at the TCC Front Counter.

Parking

Graduates and guests are encouraged to park in lot N, which can be seen in the map below. Enter campus via the West Gate and take University Drive to Lot N (behind the North Tower residence building). Parking in this lot is $4 for the day. There will be a shuttle service running from this lot to the Tournament Capital Fieldhouse.

There is limited accessible parking available at the TCC. TCC visitors displaying a valid disabled parking permit can park for free and do not need to register their license plate.

The map below also includes recommended pedestrian routes from the TCC to the Horticulture Gardens and other points on campus.

Ceremony duration

Ceremony duration may vary based on the number of graduates. Estimated ceremony durations can be seen below:

  • 1 - 1.5 hrs: Faculty of Law
  • 1.5 - 2 hrs: School of Trades & Technology with Faculty of Education and Social Work
  • 1.5 - 2hr: Faculty of Science
  • 2 - 2.5 hrs: Bob Gaglardi School of Business and Economics
  • 1.5 - 2 hrs: Faculty of Arts
  • 1.5 - 2 hrs: Faculty of Adventure, Culinary Arts & Tourism with School of Nursing

Limited seating

Each graduate is allowed to bring six guests. Tickets are not required but seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Arrive early to ensure you're seated.

Live video

All convocation ceremonies are broadcast live online for those unable to attend.

  • Broadcasts normally begin five or 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • We list all times in Pacific Time.
  • Recordings of the live broadcast are available shortly after each ceremony.

Roses, frames, memorabilia and souvenirs

There will be fresh flowers, frames, and other TRU memorabilia available to purchase at the TCC and the New Alumni Welcome reception in the TRU Gymnasium.

Fresh roses can be pre-ordered and picked up on the day of your ceremony.

The Bookstore in the Campus Activity Centre carries frames and other graduation memorabilia. You can also shop for TRU souvenirs.
