Marina
nicholsm20@mytru.caHey, I'm Marina, a 2L student at TRU Law. Originally from Toronto, I moved to the interior of BC 6 years prior to law school for my undergraduate studies, where I have remained ever since. I'm happy to chat about moving to Kamloops, travelling, camping, skiing/biking, and getting involved in extracurriculars :)
Mike is one of our most mature students (chronologically) and belongs to the Class of '23, who did 1L entirely over Zoom due to the pandemic. He entered law in his late 40s with an 11-year-old son, endeavoring to start a second career. Since starting law school, Mike has returned to BC, settling his family on Vancouver Island. He is a firm believer in law as a second career and believes strongly that mature students are valuable to law schools and the profession generally. When he's not studying you will find him mountain biking, fly fishing, or making a racket with his guitar. He still doesn't know what kind of lawyer he wants to be when he grows up.
Nadia
ruscittin22@mytru.caHello! I'm Nadia and I am currently a 1L student at TRU Law. I've enjoyed my experiences here so far because of the Faculty and Staff who go out of their way to remind you how qualified and capable you are of achieving your goals. TRU Law is truly a collegial environment where everyone supports each other, both academically and outside of the classroom. Moving to Kamloops from Toronto, Ontario had it's challenges but I can say without a doubt it has made me stronger and been the most rewarding learning experience. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about life in Kamloops, the academics at TRU Law, or any other topics you would like to discuss. I'd be so happy to help since it wasn't too long ago that I was on the roller-coaster ride of the law school admission process, and it was the people I met along the way that made the experience manageable and enjoyable!
