Review processes
TRU participates in required cyclical internal and external quality review processes at the institutional and program levels. Information on each specific review process and subsequent reporting can be found below.
Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA)
The Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA) [Quality Assurance Process Audit - Province of British Columbia] is an external review process to ensure that public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia periodically conduct rigorous, ongoing program and institutional quality assessment. QAPA was first launched in 2016, and all B.C. public institutions participate in the QAPA once every seven years.
TRU undertook its first QAPA in January 2020. TRU's self-evaluation report and external peer review recommendations are now available in the QAPA Summary.

Education Quality Assurance
TRU holds an Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation through the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Standards for maintaining this trademark are outlined under Education Quality Assurance, including policy, procedures and the new EQA Code of Practice. TRU must meet or exceed these qualifications, set out by the ministry.

Program review
Program review at TRU is conducted according to TRU Senate Policy ED 8-4 Program Review and is aligned with the standards established by the Ministry for Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training.
Program review is overseen by the Academic Planning and Priorities Committee (APPC) and is supported by the Office of Mission Fulfilment and Quality Assurance. Programs are reviewed at least once every five years in a faculty-led process. Programs requiring external review, such as accreditation, will have their internal program reviews aligned.
