Incorporate Career & Experiential Learning into your classroom with our in-class presentations and seminars.
Class Presentations
Our Career Ambassadors are available to do short in-class presentations reviewing Career & Experiential Learning’s programs and supports. Career Ambassadors are peer mentors trained by CEL and usually have personal experience with co-op work terms, making them excellent spokespersons to connect with your students and inspire them to start their career journey.
To schedule a presentation, contact Career & Experiential Learning at careereducation@tru.ca or 250-371-5627. Please contact us two weeks before your requested presentation date with the time and location of your class.
Don’t cancel that class! To maintain the energy and motivation of your students, we can deliver a career seminar, so you don’t have to cancel your class. Faculty can choose from a variety of career topics, or we can tailor a career seminar based on your students' needs.
Class Seminars
Following the seminar, we will survey the students to determine the relevance of the topic, student learning, and satisfaction. You will be provided with a copy of the seminar, the student evaluations, and any required attendance records. Please ensure your students understand this is a regularly scheduled class and their attendance is required.
Who is delivering the seminars?
Faculty from Career & Experiential Learning.
Where will the seminars be held?
A faculty member will come to your scheduled room and class time.
When?
Two weeks' notice is recommended. Due to faculty availability, it may not be possible to fulfill all requests.
