About Us

Weyt-k / Welcome / Bienvenue

Welcome to the faculty committed to realizing your potential. Your goals, your possibilities, and your future are at the heart of the studies, research, and learning experiences at the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Welcome!

The opportunities through the Faculty of Education and Social Work are huge: become a teacher, education leader, counsellor, education assistant, complete those courses needed to enter university studies, learn English for academic purposes, train for human service and for a career in social work. These are just some of the many opportunities waiting for you. And when your studies are over for now, our graduates from the Faculty of Education and Social Work courses go on to join the labour force at exceptional levels, and to find success in further studies.

Our goal as educators is to help truly unexpected levels of student success happen. As faculty and students we are movers and shakers. We say and do things that matter and can be relied upon. We plan carefully. We look out for others and look after each other.

If you’re innovative and have a drive to help others through new knowledge, then here at the Faculty of Education and Social Work you can learn how to research. You can be part of solving ongoing social and educational challenges. It’s brave and innovative work, and it’s all in a day for our researchers and research students at the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Our Vision

We help unexpected levels of student success happen. We are movers and shakers through education, social work and human services. We say and do things that matter and can be relied upon. We plan carefully. We look out for others and look after each other.

The coyote sculpture created by artist John McEwen watches atop the Brown Family House of Learning at TRU's campus in Kamloops. Symbolizing our commitment to realizing potential, the sculpture faces towards the rising sun and is made from metal fashioned into stars.
