New Faculty Support

The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching has a role in supporting faculty new to TRU. We hold new faculty orientations in August and January prior to the fall and winter terms.

Our goal is to reach out to all new (or almost new) faculty, including tenure-track, limited-term contract and sessional faculty. We want them to feel a part of TRU and well-informed about the institution and their role as faculty. These orientations include key information and contacts regarding services that their students may need, services from People and Culture that they may need, and academic services that they may use in their teaching and research.

From September to April we also offer monthly sessions on topics including academic integrity, Indigenization, interculturalization, educational technology and open education resources.  See our interactive calendar for details and to register.

In addition to these orientations and monthly sessions, we also provide one-on-one consulting or orientations for smaller groups of new faculty joining TRU at other times during the year.
