Bookings must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the requested date. The TRU Future Students Office does not guarantee a campus tour until the following occurs:

  • A Campus Visitors Agreement document is signed and submitted by your group’s authorized representatives and has been received and accepted.
  • The Future Students staff schedule your campus tour, and your authorized representatives receive a final Campus Tour Confirmation.
Check-in and Arrival Times

Groups are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time to ensure time to settle in and get ready for their visit. Due to scheduling, if a group is late that time will be deducted from their visit.

Group Size

Group tours are limited to 60 participants, not including chaperones. One chaperone is needed for every 30 students, but more is preferred if staffing allows it. Larger groups may be considered under special circumstances. While we can’t guarantee space for larger groups, we will do our best to accommodate.

Chaperone Expectations

We require 1 chaperone per 30 students and chaperones must accompany the group throughout the visit. Chaperones are responsible for monitoring the behaviour of their students and addressing any issues. You must list all chaperones that will be on your tour and make them aware of behaviour expectations.

Group Expectations

Groups are expected to follow our campus rules and stay in your designated group for your entire visit. Participants should also be respectful to the leaders and follow any instructions they are given.

Weather

Tours take place rain or shine. Currently the tour is primarily outdoors, so keep in mind the Kamloops climate and dress appropriately. Comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle are also recommended.

TRU’s Grade 10 Days

Discover your path to higher education with a visit to TRU’s campus! The transition from high school to post-secondary can feel quite overwhelming. We’ve taken the questions we frequently receive from students – like “What program should I take?”, “What’s the difference between college and university?”, and “What do words like transcript, pre-requisite, and tuition even mean?” – and created a visit that will leave your students feeling inspired and prepared for their next steps. While we do use examples from TRU, this visit is about encouraging students to pursue post-secondary education.

Engage directly with passionate faculty representatives, gaining insights into the programs that spark your curiosity. Attend a tailored presentation that equips you with the tools to navigate your journey to post-secondary, and then explore our dynamic campus through a guided tour, envisioning your future as part of a vibrant academic community.

This visit is intended for grade 10 students and works particularly well when paired with the CLE curriculum. Preference will be given to schools from TRU’s region (School Districts 22, 27, 58, 73, 74, and 83).
