Application Instructions: Graduate/Masters Programs
How to apply
Application for admission to Graduate or Masters Programs at TRU is a two-step process.
Step 1: Apply online
Step 2: Look for an email from International Graduate Admissions 2-5 business days after submitting your application. While you are waiting please prepare the following documents:
- Letter of intent
- Proof of graduation (eg, copy of degree, provisional certificate, etc.)
- Transcripts from all post-secondary studies (high school transcripts are not required)
- Proof of English language proficiency if your degree has been awarded in a country for which English is not an official language
- Letters of reference (except MBA/GDBA)
- Application checklist
Step 3: Once you receive an email from International Graduate Admissions with your TRU ID, please submit your documents to firstname.lastname@example.org and please include your TRU ID with all communications.
Step 4: Once your completed application is received it will be processed and submitted to a selection committee. Once a decision has been made you will receive a decision letter from International Graduate Admissions. This process normally takes 3-6 weeks.
Step 5: Once receiving a conditional acceptance letter, please submit your acceptance letter as soon as possible to email@example.com
Step 6: Make your full commitment fee payment, and courier/ your original/official transcripts to International Graduate Admissions.

Scanned copies of original/official transcripts (or certified copies) for all prior post-secondary studies must be included with your application.
After receiving your acceptance, original transcripts must be sent to TRU prior to the start of your first semester. If originals cannot be mailed then original transcripts must accompany you when you come to Canada.
If you cannot replace your original transcripts, please notify International Admissions on arrival. We will make a verified copy of your documents and return the originals to you.
