They will also process inquiries through the government if your financial aid is unduly delayed.

Lisa Smillie, Student Awards Advisor
Bev Petri, Student Awards Advisor
Susie Russo, Student Awards Advisor
Awards Advisors offer a wide variety of guidance and support to full-time and part-time students, from obtaining StudentAid BC and other government program funding, to TRU scholarships, bursaries, awards, and WorkStudy, to general financial planning for the school year. Wayne, Lisa and Nadine primarily assist students in campus programs, while Bev and Susie primarily assist students in Open Learning programs.
Appointments with Student Awards Advisors are required for emergency loan applications and are strongly recommended for anyone submitting a Request for Appeal of their government student assistance. Students may also request an appointment to plan finances and to explore possible alternative funding sources, should government programs fail to meet financial need. Appointments may be made through Student Awards & Financial Support by calling 250-828-5024 (Kamloops). Students attending a campus other than Kamloops may arrange a telephone or Skype interview through the campus office. Appointments for StudentAid BC Assistance application completion are available only if extraordinary circumstances exist.
Gordon is responsible for managing the operation of the department, which administers a diverse program of student awards and financial supports.
