GoByBike Week keeps rolling at TRU!

June 3 to 7, 2024 – With lots of prizes, a Celebration Station, free bike repair tune-ups (and free outdoor French Breakfast June 18!)

TRU team members from Folks On Spokes during GoByBike Week in 2015.

GoByBike Week 2024 is almost here! This long-standing BC event embraces cycling as way of promoting health, wellness and sustainability. It’s a great way to get healthy, show your support for active and alternative transportation, meet new people all while having fun and entering to win some epic prizes!

All TRU students, staff, and faculty are eligible to take part by joining the TRU team “Folks On Spokes” for a chance at winning some great prizes - including a cycling trip for two to Italy! and gaining free access to some great perks.

To join the team, follow this link and click the red box “Join Team” and then search for ”TRU Folks on Spokes”. For a chance at winning prizes, you NEED to have an account and record at least one day of commuting kms. If you already have an account, just log in to start recording your daily commute kms. The more days you record your kms, the better your chances of winning! (The whole event runs June 3 to 9 but TRU focuses on Monday to Friday. If you work weekends, you can log your work commuting kms).

Here’s what happening at TRU all week (and beyond!):

  • Celebration Station
On campus at the corner of McGill and Summit. Monday to Thursday, 6:30 to 8:30 am. Stop by for a chance to be entered into daily prize draws, get free snacks, and pick up your Golden Ticket (for the Italy trip draw).
  • Prizes
Any TRU student, staff or faculty member has a chance at winning some great prizes but ONLY if you are part of the TRU Folks On Spokes team AND you record at least one day of your daily commute kms.

    TRU Daily Prize Draws

For each of the five days you enter your daily kms, you get a chance at winning a great little bike-related prize (flashing lights, multi-tools, air pumps, etc.). You can only win once during the week.

    TRU Most Kms

The three riders who bike the most kms all week will each win a bike-related prize. Remember to log those daily commuting kms.

    TRU Grand Prize Draw

All members of TRU Folks On Spokes who record at least one day of their daily commute will have their name entered into a draw to win a $150 gift certificate to their favorite bike shop!

    Prizes from GoByBike Week BC

There will be additional prizes for all participants of GoByBike Week BC, so check out their website for more information on what's up for grabs. Don’t forget to get your Golden Ticket each morning at a Celebration Station around town.
