Wildfires in our region
This summer has seen an above-average number of wildfires in the BC Interior, with some fires burning near Williams Lake and Kamloops. Though the current wildfires are not an immediate threat to either community, we know students living in many other areas of BC and their families may have been affected. If you are a student who has been affected by the wildfires this summer, please know we are here to help. Reach out to TRU’s supports.
By September, wildfires will be met with cooler overnight temperatures, which greatly reduces their ability to burn, and we expect the wildfire situation and air quality to improve.
