Resources

The below outlines key resources for students, faculty and staff.
Please contact the Office of Student Affairs for more information and assistance with the processes at studentaffairs@tru.ca or 250-828-5023.

Academic Appeals

We encourage students and staff to resolve academic issues through discussion. Students can email the Office of Student Affairs for help connecting with their instructor, and proposing a resolution for the issue.

Students may bring forward for formal review matters that have not been resolved to their satisfaction. The formal review concludes with a decision that is final and binding upon all parties.

TRU recognizes the right of students to appeal:

  • Decisions on final grades.
  • Decisions on the application of Senate policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to student academic performance.
  • Perceived unethical conduct by TRU staff and other students.

To learn more about the Academic Appeals process please read through this flowchart. For courses taken via TRU Open Learning please follow this flowchartPlease submit the Academic Appeal Form to the Office of Student Affairs.

The Academic Appeal fee can be paid in person at the Finance Cashier (Old Main, Room 1614) or by phone 250-371-5646.

*Please visit the Resources section for a list of applicable policies and forms.
