Blackboard Tutorials

Most Open Learning courses offered online are delivered on Blackboard Learn. This web-based software allows students and Open Learning Faculty Members to communicate with each other through email, discussion forums and announcements.

Once you enrol in a course, your first step will be to log-in to Blackboard Learn and send an introductory email to the course Open Learning Faculty Member. The first time you log-in, your password will be your birthdate, using the YYMMDD format. Once you’re in, you’ll be prompted to create a new password.

You’ll return to Blackboard throughout your course to find and submit your assignments and receive feedback. We suggest you check in regularly to keep up-to-date with information and discussions about the course material.

If you need help navigating Blackboard, Open Learning provides detailed tutorials on its Blackboard Wiki page.
