Co-op Abroad

Teaching Abroad
Teaching Abroad is a great way to work, travel and learn a different aspect of a new culture.
TRU offers the TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) course with a high success rate in job placement after graduation. Upon completion of this accredited program at TRU, students receive both a TRU TESL Certificate and are eligible to apply for the TESL Canada Level 1 certificate, providing many opportunities across Canada and Internationally.
Numerous companies recruit TRU students and alumni to teach overseas.

TRU Field Schools

International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE)
IAESTE jobs are on every continent for 8-52 weeks in duration. Most jobs are during the summer months, but others are available in the winter and fall. Students must be between 19-35 years old and studying full time in engineering, technical sciences, technologies or architecture.

Field School

Professional Practicums

Service Learning
Academic service learning provides a venue for senior-level students (3000 and 4000 level classes) to share their knowledge and skills with the community through approved community-based projects. Service learning projects may be initiated by students, community members, groups, agencies, organizations, and faculty.
