Karen Perry

Karen is a Tax Manager - Law with PwC Law LLP in Calgary where she practices in all areas of income tax. She regularly negotiates settlements for her clients and has worked on files in all levels of court, including the Provincial Courts, the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Her primary focus is on tax dispute resolution and tax planning, as well as administrative hearings under the Health Profession Act and the Municipal Government Act. Prior to joining PwC Law, she worked in-house for Suncor Energy Inc.

Karen frequently publishes and presents at national and international forums, in both sports and tax law and has worked on research in a wide range of tax and sport-related topics.

On top of teaching Basic Tax Law, Karen is a coach for the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition. She also provides guidance in both the Jessup International Law Moot and the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot.
