Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner Required Application Documents

Required documents to support your application
  1. 1. Evidence of active registration as a nurse in British Columbia. Current, practicing BCCNM licensure is required while enrolled in the program. You can provide a verification report from BCCNM.
  2. Evidence of a minimum of two years of relevant full-time (or equivalent to full-time) registered nursing practice within the last five years – about 3600 over 5 years. A document or screenshot from BCCNM account showing your hours. Once logged into your BCCNM account, you can find these under “Practice hours” link
  3. Curriculum Vitae or Resume
  4. Statement of interest. Please refer to the TRU School of Nursing MN-NP admission criteria for information on what to include in your statement
  5. If applicable, English Language Proficiency test:
    1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) a minimum score of 7.0 and the following sub-test scores: Speaking 7.0, Writing 7.0; Listening 7.5; Reading 6.5
    2. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
      1. iBT: a minimum score of 100 (iBT) with no section below a 20
      2. Paper-Based: 600 with a TWE of 5.0
  6. Documents 1-4 (5 if applicable) must be uploaded with your Education Planner BC online application.

  7. Two letters of reference. A weblink will be provided to you to share with your referees after TRU receives your application
  8. Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts. Instructions for submitting transcripts is available at tru.ca/transcript
