West Gate Dormitories

West Gate Dormitories is a temporary, new addition to our campus housing that provides 114 self-contained private rooms starting in January 2022. These quality modular dormitories are fully equipped with upgraded finishes and amenities. Along with a private washroom (including shower), each single room includes a double pillow top bed, desk and dresser, wall mount TV. Shared laundry facilities (washer and dryer) are also available and included in the residence fees.

Units at West Gate Dormitory include:

  • Private self-contained room
  • Mini fridge (Danby 93L), microwave (Danby 0.7 cu ft, 700 watt) and wireless internet
  • Front desk support
  • Resident advisor support and planned social activities
  • Easy access to shopping
  • Short walking distance to the centre of campus

Nearby to the world-class Tournament Capital Centre, West Gate Dormitories is a new addition to our campus housing starting in January 2022. Fully equipped and comfortable self-contained private rooms are available for 114 students. This temporary, new addition to our campus housing provides 114 self-contained private rooms with private washroom (with shower) and shared laundry.

Winter semester

In order to apply for housing a non-refundable $100 application fee is required.

All rates include a $25 mandatory residence life activity fee for the semester which is non-refundable.

If you are unable to see “TRU – MCGILL RESIDENCE” please notify the Residence and we will assist you in selecting the proper payee.

Please do not use the payee listed as “TRU RESIDENCE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE” or “THOMPSON RIVERS UNIVERSITY”.

To identify your payment, you will be prompted to type in your Account Number which is located on the home page of your My Housing Portal. You can also find this number in the top right hand corner of your invoice.
