Important Update for Applicants

We apologize for the inconvenience. For those who applied to the program to start in the fall 2023, three options are available:

  • If you are admitted, defer your seat until the start of the new program fall 2024.
  • Choose to move your application to a different program.
  • Withdraw your application to the program.

After reviewing your options and gathering the information you require to make a decision, we ask that you complete the form to inform us of your decision. You will then be provided with additional information.

What does deferral mean?

Deferral means that for those of you who have received a seat offer, your start date of the program will move from fall 2023 to fall 2024. You would not need to re-apply to the program next year. To get more information about this option you will need to declare your decision through the online form.

What are the major changes in the new program, and will it cost me more?

The program duration will be changed from three to two years, resulting in a reduction of the total cost of tuition for the program.

I want to know more about the changes in the program and my career options.

Please contact Dale Parkes, Department Chair ARET, at 250-828-5059 or via email at dparkes@tru.ca.

I don’t want to defer. Can I change my application to another program at TRU?

You can request to move your application to another program at TRU and your application will be transferred to the new program to review and process free of charge. Once the review process is complete you will be notified. Please explore the program options at TRU and then declare your decision through the online form.

Who should I contact if I need more information about other TRU programs and admission requirements?

Please contact Dr. Faheem Ahmed, Associate Dean of Science, at 250-371-5696 or via email at fahmed@tru.ca.

I do not want to defer. How do I withdraw my application?

You can withdraw your application and TRU will refund your application fee and tuition deposit (if you have already paid a deposit). To get more information about this option you will need to declare your decision through the online form.

If I withdraw my application, can I re-apply next year?

Yes, you can reapply next year when applications open on Oct. 1, and your application will be processed and reviewed at that time.
