The School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo offers a four-year professional program leading to the Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
Graduates enter into a wide range of positions spanning private and public sectors, non-profit organizations and self-employment. Positions include: project coordinator, researcher, public relations specialist, manager, communications specialist, teacher, marketing specialist, adjuster, and counsellor.
Applications to the program are accepted from candidates who have met the following criteria:
- A minimum overall university science average of 75%
- The science average is the overall average of all courses taken while registered in a faculty of science
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada status held for at least 12 months prior to the registration day of the fall term
