The Awards Assistants are usually your first contact with the Student Awards & Financial Aid. They will check that you have the links and forms necessary for applying for the various programs, provide information on program start dates and costs, issue loans, grants and institutional awards, and advise on requirements for maintaining payment-free status on loans. They will also process inquiries through the government if your financial aid is unduly delayed.

Awards Advisors offer a wide variety of guidance and support to full-time and part-time students, from obtaining StudentAid BC and other government program funding, to TRU scholarships, bursaries, awards, and WorkStudy, to general financial planning for the school year. While advisors can assist students in many different areas, each advisor also has primary areas of responsibility.
Advisor Appointments
Appointments with Student Awards Advisors are normally required for emergency funding applications and are recommended for anyone submitting a Request for Appeal of their government student assistance. Students may also request an appointment to plan finances and to explore possible funding sources. Appointments may be made through Student Awards & Financial Aid by calling 250-828-5024 (Kamloops). Please advise if you prefer an appointment via phone, Teams video (like Zoom), or in-person at our campus office. Appointments for StudentAid BC assistance application completion are available only if extraordinary circumstances exist.
