September orientation
Your university experience starts with orientation. Kick off your first year at orientation and meet new friends, build connections and explore campus and supports available to you.
Orientation is the Labour Day holiday — Monday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mandatory in-person orientation sessions will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 to Friday, Sept. 1, 2023.

Back-to-School BBQ
Join us Friday Sept. 8 for one of our biggest events of the year, the TRU Students’ Union (TRUSU) Back-to-School BBQ. Students, staff, faculty and members from the community get together for the afternoon as the campus turns into a barbecue bash.
Enjoy free giveaways, prizes, music, entertainment and games. Of course, we can’t forget the free burgers, hot dogs and non-alcoholic beverages.
Explore resources and services available to you as a TRUSU member, meet new friends, and have fun!

The fun doesn’t stop after your first week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., discover our vibrant club community at TRUSU Clubs Day at the Old Main basketball courts.
Join TRUSU for a spectacular event as the Equity Committee extends a warm welcome to all 2SLGBTQIA+ students. The event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Friday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m., start your morning with free breakfast, music and games at the TRU Old Main basketball courts. TRUSU is looking forward to welcoming you with delicious food from pancakes to fresh fruit and coffee.
There is also a Chef’s Package giveaway, Pride Parade Sign Making and Outdoor Movie Night planned in September.
