Peter Rowntree

Peter is a legal scholar and practitioner specializing in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and corporate and commercial law. With over a decade of experience as an M&A lawyer in private practice, Peter brings a wealth of real-world insight to the classroom and academic discourse. He currently serves as sessional instructor in the Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University, where he integrates legal theory with practical application to prepare students for the evolving demands of corporate law.

Peter holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business (2021), a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law (2014), and a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from New York University (2010). His interdisciplinary background informs a nuanced approach to legal education and corporate governance. Though not currently active in scholarly publishing, Peter remains engaged in the legal community through his memberships in the Canadian Bar Association (CBCA) and the Law Society of British Columbia. His transition from private practice to in-house counsel reflects a continued commitment to strategic legal advisory and corporate integrity.
