Distance and Online Education

Thompson Rivers University brings education directly to you through its Open Learning Division (TRU-OL). Now you can get the benefit of a traditional university education in a non-traditional way.

As British Columbia’s leading online and distance education provider, TRU-OL offers over 550 courses and 60 programs. Students can complete just one course or an entire degree, diploma, or certificate by studying online or by distance at a pace and place that suits their lifestyle. On-campus students can enroll in Open Learning and develop a more flexible schedule that helps them balance full- or part-time work with their studies.

International Students

  • Open Learning offers more choice and flexibility in your semester schedule.
  • Complete courses towards your degree before you come to TRU, saving both time and money.
