A planned campus-wide power shutdown will take place from 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 3 to support critical infrastructure work for the Low-Carbon District Energy System.
Most campus buildings will be without operating power during this time and will be locked at 8 p.m. Signage will be posted at affected buildings.
Buildings that will remain powered include:
Some buildings with fridge and freezer requirements, including the greenhouses, Culinary Arts and the Lepin Building, will have emergency power only.
Blue emergency phones will remain operational, and security services are not expected to be affected.
Parking stalls 111–117 and 128–134 in Lot P will be closed Friday, May 1 and will reopen Sunday, May 3.
Campus Wi-Fi will remain available during the shutdown.

TRU is installing privacy-focused occupancy sensors in several campus buildings to better understand how classrooms, study spaces and service areas are used throughout the day.
The sensors help the university plan and schedule spaces more effectively. They do not record audio or video and cannot identify individuals. The technology only produces anonymous estimates of how busy a space is.

Effective March 30, 2026, use your T-ID followed by the domain “@mytru.ca” to access myTRU features that require signing into your student account (e.g.: T00xxxxxx@mytru.ca).
Effective Sept. 1, 2026, parking rates at TRU will increase for daily, monthly, semester and yearly permits.
We encourage students to review their parking needs in advance, especially before participating in the 2026/27 parking lottery which begins mid- to late April.
