XDRV 0630 - Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program

Thompson Rivers University is an authorized delivery provider of the mandatory Authorized Inspectors (AI) Program. Program eligibility requires participants to hold Trade Qualification (TQ) in Automotive, Truck, Transport, or Heavy Duty. This 20-hour course is comprised of theoretical and in-shop training and will cover the following content:

  • Classes of motor vehicles
  • Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations
  • Designated Inspection Facility Program
  • Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Inspector Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities of Facility Operators and Inspectors
  • The Commercial Vehicle Inspection Manual
  • Forms completion and decal application
  • Vehicle Inspection e-forms general procedures and how to sign up
  • Authorized Inspectors examination

Required Materials: 2016 Vehicle Inspection Manual (hard copy), CSA-approved footwear, safety glasses

XDRV 0632 - Facility Operator Course

Thompson Rivers University is an authorized delivery provider of the mandatory Facility Operator Course. This course is designed to ensure that new operators receive the required knowledge to effectively participate in the Vehicle Inspection Program and ensure that all vehicles inspected at their facility meet all applicable safety standards for on-highway use. Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) has established a Facility Operator Course. The Facility Operator Course provides a consistent platform of instruction to ensure business operations are in compliance with all applicable regulations, legislation, program requirements, and standards.

XENV 0500 - CFC/HCFC/HFC Control Certificate

This one-day theoretical environmental course covers awareness of ozone-depleting substances, environmentally correct equipment design, and proper handling of ozone-depleting substances. Upon successful completion, participants will receive CFC/HCFC/HFC Control Certification provided directly by HRAI.
