PayMyTuition makes it simple and secure to pay your fees from anywhere in the world. Whether you’re paying domestically or internationally, you can choose from multiple payment options, track your payment online, and enjoy peace of mind knowing your tuition is handled safely and on time.

Online payment options

Paying via PayMyTuition

Thompson Rivers University has partnered with PayMyTuition for domestic and international tuition payment options. Use PayMyTuition for making payments with:

  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • Interac e-transfer
  • International currency

Get started:

  1. Log in to myTRU
  2. Select Make a Payment

Paying via Internet Banking

  • Follow your Canadian bank or financial institution's instructions to add TRU as a payee, then submit your tuition payment.
  • Payee: search for "Thompson Rivers University". The name should show up as "Thompson Rivers University" but may be slightly different at your bank.
  • Account number: use your TRU student number (e.g. T0XXXXXXX).

Please allow at least 1-2 business days for your online bill payment to be processed into your tuition account. You can check to see if payment has been processed by logging into myTRU.

Adding an authorized user to PayMyTuition

You can also add someone else to pay on your behalf, even if they are in another country, without sharing your personal details. By adding an authorized user to your PayMyTuition account, another person can make an electronic payment directly to your account.

Processing times For payments made with Canadian dollars

In your myTRU student portal you can access PayMyTuition to pay your tuition and fees from any Canadian bank. Please refer to the table below for a list of payment options and when you can expect to see your payment reflected in your myTRU account:

* Credit card transactions incur a 2.5% convenience fee.

** Debit card transactions incur a 1.65% convenience fee. Only debit cards with a CVV (three digits on the back of the card) will be accepted.

To avoid paying the convenience fee, consider using fee-free alternatives like Interac e-transfer, online bill payment or cheque.

Processing times For payments made with international currencies

If you are an international student, you can pay your tuition and fees from any bank, in any country, in any currency at a better rate than bank exchange rates. International payment options through PayMyTuition, which is accessed through your myTRU student portal, include:

Credit Card Payments

Notice: You are permitted to make up to three (3) credit card payments per day through the PayMyTuition portal.

If you attempt more than three credit card transactions in a single day, your subsequent payments will not be processed:

  • You will have to wait 24 hours to make additional credit card payments
  • Alternative methods of payment are available such as Interac e-transfer and online bill payment
  • If needed, call the Finance office for more information 250-371-5646 (option 6)

Cheque payments

Drop off cheques at the Registrar’s Office (Old Main), Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or mail to:
