Fund-A-Need: Raise your paddle for the next generation of leaders in tourism and hospitality

This year's Fund-A-Need

At the TRU Foundation Gala on April 22, we launched a campaign to raise $100,000 for a passenger van for TRU’s Faculty of Adventure, Culinary Arts and Tourism (FACT) students so that they can be safely transported to both backcountry and urban destinations — an integral part of experiential learning.

FACT prepares students for a range of careers in outdoor adventure guiding, tourism leadership and management, crafting cuisine for modern bistros and fine-dining restaurants and creating memorable experiences. In addition to helping students realize their full professional potential, this faculty is also invested in developing local communities and exploring global perspectives.

With your help, we can train and empower the next generation of industry leaders.

How you can help

On April 22, we raised an incredible $82,000 for the van. We still need to raise $18,000 to meet our goal! Click here to donate. Everyone who donates receives a charitable tax receipt for the full amount.

What you get

The satisfaction that comes from knowing you’ve made an impact. By contributing to a passenger van, you’re helping hundreds of students become adventure guides, chefs, tourism providers and much more. And that, in turn, means better destinations and opportunities in our region.

Van

An amazing 96 per cent of TRU’s tourism grads are now in the labour force. Your support for a passenger van is an investment in not only the next generation of industry leaders, but in our local economy as well.
