Nursing and Population Health Building
Giving Day Fund: Nursing and Population Health Building
The Chappell Family Building for Nursing and Population Health
Your donation is an investment in future health care workers in our hospitals, homes, retirement homes, doctor offices and long-term care facilities in our community and beyond.
COVID-19 has underscored the urgent need for frontline health-care workers. The demand was so urgent last spring that nursing, and heath care assistant students graduated early to fill the many vacant positions. This need continues to increase, not just because of the pandemic but also due to the aging population.
The province has a shortage of qualified health care providers. Over 20,000 registered nurses and health care workers are needed to staff hospitals, long-term-care facilities, and in-home care in BC in the coming years.
By supporting our state-of-the-art learning labs, you are ensuring students will become critical thinkers who are able to accurately diagnose and treat patients.
It is critical that TRU continue to educate and graduate competent well-trained healthcare professionals. Your support will help us prepare future nurses to meet the ever-increasing need in our local community, region, and province.
