Jones’ work explored the missing middle housing—looking at whether higher density, infill developments ranging from duplexes to live-work setups have the potential to meet residential demand more effectively than single-family homes and how it might fill housing gaps in Kamloops.

Jumeau, a WolfPack athlete and student researcher, has a strong interest in wildlife ecology and animal-wildfire relationships. He recently studied the impacts of ski-hill development on black bear diet and is currently studying post-fire lichen regeneration in woodland caribou habitat in Ulkatcho Territory.

Kajusa has a passion for learning about different cultures. Her research involved studying intergenerational trauma within the South Sudanese community and learning about ways of healing.
“Thompson Rivers University has given me many opportunities and allowed me to do things I would never have done before. I never thought I would receive so many scholarships and be given the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research. Now I am starting my Master of Education at TRU. My advice for new students is to not give up and keep chasing your dreams.”

Scholefield participated in the 2025 TRU Undergraduate Research Conference, sharing his investigation of antimicrobial capabilities of scorpion-venom-derived peptides for pharmaceutical applications.
