If faced with COVID-19 symptoms or you have tested positive with COVID-19, we hope you feel better soon. In the meantime, please make necessary notifications outlined below and follow the steps to manage your illness.
Make necessary notifications
TRU no longer requires those who test positive to notify the case management team. This information was being collected to support Interior Health with contact tracing, which has since stopped being a valuable measure to reducing the spread of the virus.Students with symptoms
Notify your face-to-face instructor(s) if you will be absent and, if you have tested positive, please report to the BC Centre of Disease Control.
Instructors/managers of student/employee with symptoms
You are no longer required to make any further notifications.
TRU faculty and staff
If you will be absent, notify your manager/supervisor. If you test positive, please report to the BC Centre of Disease Control.
Manage your illness
The BC Centre of Disease Control’s (BCCDC) provides thorough guidance on next steps to manage your symptoms/illness. Please read through the COVID-19 area of the BCCDC site, which includes information on:
- Reporting your positive result (including if you test positive at our rapid testing clinic).
- Self-isolation and ending isolation.
- Notifying close contacts if advised by 811.
