The Gathering Place was completed and inaugurated on Sept. 8, 2010. It provides a safe, supportive environment and culturally appropriate services to all students.
Designed to welcome First Nations students on campus, the Gathering Place sponsors positive academic, personal, and community outcomes. In addition, it is the space in Williams Lake for TRU-Open Learning support and services for a wide range of students.
A full-time facilitator, two part-time tutors and a First Nations co-ordinator are available to provide several services: expertise in English, French, essay writing, math, chemistry, biology, physics, computers, First Nations studies, successful study skills and adult basic education.
The Gathering Place is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., and tutoring appointments may also be available at other times. If our schedules do not suit your need, please discuss your situation with our tutors or the Indigenous Student Services Coordinator:
