You will be required to pay a $500 Commitment Fee to secure your seat. It will be held as a deposit towards your tuition. Important information on how to register will be sent to you by the School of Nursing. You must notify the Admissions Office of your commitment fee payment before registration will be permitted. If you are selected for admission, a Seat Offer Letter will be mailed to you. Acceptance to the Health Care Assistant program is not deemed final until the required documents below have been submitted prior to the commencement of the program.
All Health Care Assistant students are required to complete the following post-admission documents prior to clinical. Send certificate copies and completed forms to the Williams Lake Campus by:

Standard First Aid with CPR level "C" Certificate
All students in the health care assistant program are required to have current Standard First Aid with CPR level "C" certification. You must email a copy of the certificate showing effective date to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Food Safe Certificate
All students in the health care assistant program are required to have a current Food Safe Level 1 certificate. You must email a copy of the certificate showing effective date to email@example.com
Student Immunization Record
As required by clinical partner sites and recommended by BC Centre for Disease Control (2017): diphtheria and tetanus, polio, hepatitis B, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), varicella and influenza. Students who fail to comply with immunization requirements may be prohibited from attending practice education experiences as per the health authority and clincal partner site policy. All TRU health care assistant students visiting health care service delivery sites for clinical placements are considered health care providers and should be protected against vaccine preventable diseases. You must follow provincial and Practice Agency immunizations guidelines and policies. Such policies are based on the Communicable Diseases and Immunization Guidelines from the BC Centre for Disease Control and the Canadian Public Health Agency. You must send a copy of your completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Criminal Record Check
All students in the HCA program are required to have completed a criminal record check. Once the consent form is completed students must bring their completed copy along with one piece of photo ID to Admissions in Room 1180. If you are unable to submit this in person and instead choose to submit your consent form electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org , please provide copies of two pieces of photo identification, one of which should be a valid driver's licence. If you do not have two pieces of photo ID you can have the consent form notarized. Payment is NOT required, the charge will be included in your first practice course.
