Guiding Principles

The Integrated Strategic Planning Project Team aims to use TRU’s values throughout the planning process:

Inclusion and diversity

We will seek to encourage dialogue among various stakeholders and partners in the updating, development and alignment of plans to fulfill TRU’s new Vision Statement and achieve our 10-year strategic change goals. Important to our success is the participation of the ISP Steering Committee which represents a cross-section of university voices providing guidance and advice to the Project Team, as well as individual department plan holders.

Community-mindedness

The ISP process brings us together to help one another (Pelkwaílc-kt es knucwentwécw-kt) as we develop or update plans to put our Vision in Action. The foundation of our planning will keep in mind our mission of serving students and their communities through high quality and flexible education, training, research and scholarship.

Curiosity

The ISP process will cause us to think outside existing plans, perhaps taking risks as we challenge ourselves to fulfill our new vision and strategic change goals.

Sustainability

Through both the planning process and implementation of the ISP, we will be wise stewards of the resources available to us — time, people, and funds.
