Online Language and Culture program

A place where world learners come together

We are excited to offer our popular Language and Culture program in an online format.

While developing English skills online alongside other learners from around the world, students will be able to immerse themselves virtually in elements of Canadian culture, explore aspects of intercultural communication, participate in an elective and experience an individualized learning experience through one-to-one sessions.

All our online programs are offered live and in real time with one of our certified language instructors. Your class time will be spent having live communication with your instructor and meeting new friends from around the world.

All our instructors are TESL certified and specially trained in communicative, hands-on learning techniques.

I joined the August Online Language and Culture Program through TRU. At first, I was afraid of whether I could communicate with native speakers. However, the teachers were very kind to make efforts to understand what I wanted to say, so I gradually could have the confidence to speak English. All of the classes were so interesting, but especially, I enjoyed English Studies the most. Above all, I think Pecha Kucha presentation was a good chance to study English. Through this presentation, I could learn not only how to have a presentation in English, but also how to contact co-workers by using English. And, various activities such as student panels or exercise classes were also interesting and new things for me. I’m glad to know a lot of new things through this program. Finally, I’d like to say thank you to all who contribute to this program. I can definitely recommend joining this program to other students who are interested in studying abroad.

I joined the Online Language & Culture program before my first semester at TRU began, which is August, 2020. The main reasons I took this program was that I want to improve my oral English and learn some English skills. The other reason was that I want to know what does class (lesson) in TRU looked like? Well, the lessons were full of fun! I really enjoyed all of our classes: I`ve met some friends from Japan and this program not only provided a place for me to practice oral English, but also helped us (I and my Japanese friends) to better understand each culture. And we even linked to B.C. Wildlife Park to see and learn some knowledge about owl and snake in our Virtual Activities class!

I really appreciate the faculties of Online Language & Culture program, they are amicable, dedicated and professional. Thanks to them, I had a wonderful and fruitful learning experience.
