Language and Culinary Arts

Our four-week program allows you to experience Western cuisine and hospitality from a Canadian perspective. Learn working side by side with Red Seal chefs to learn Western food preparation and service. We also introduce you to the variety of cuisine in Western Canada.

Our professional chefs take you on an exciting culinary voyage of discovery each day in the TRU Culinary Arts building. Learn about food preparation, products and presentation reflecting the distinct flavours and cooking styles that Canada is famous for.

Monday

Introduction to baking: 9 a.m. to noon
Language studies 1 - 3 p.m.

Tuesday

Seasonal Canadian cooking: 9 a.m. to noon
Indoor rock climbing: 1 - 3 p.m.

Wednesday

Downtown farmers market: 9 a.m. to noon
Language studies: 1 - 3 p.m.

Thursday

Secrets to grilling food to perfection: 9 a.m. to noon
Language studies: 1 - 3 p.m.

Friday

Day at North Barriere Lake Resort barbecue and picnic: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
