Information for Presenters



Types of Proposals

The following is a brief description of each type of proposal:

Posters: Both new and old posters are welcomed. We would like to have a display of historical posters from TRU and UCC, so the older the better!

Regular Presentation: 40 minute presentation, with time for questions at the end of the session.

Speed Presentation: Short (10-12 minute) presentation, with time for questions at the end of the session.

Panel Discussion: Two or more speakers will present different aspects, perspectives, or thoughts on a particular topic, research problem, or question. Each speaker will have an opportunity for to present their information, and when all the speakers are finished, there will be time for discussion.

Roundtable Discussion: Presenter will lead a discussion with the audience on a particular topic OR a small group of presenters will discuss a particular topic, with the opportunity for audience questions either throughout or at the end.

Asynchronous Material: Presenter will provide a video or other asynchronous content via a link that will be available on the TPC schedule

*Note: If you require specific technology for your session, be sure to include that information in your proposal submission.

Evaluation Criteria

The TPC committee is looking for a mixture of sessions that will appeal to a wide audience and that reflect the theme and streams. Please be sure to explain in the statement field how your session reflects the theme/streams. Session proposals will be evaluated for acceptance based on the following criteria:

  • Currency and/or Innovativeness
  • Relevancy to theme and audience
  • Clarity of abstract
  • Evidence of engaging participants
