Information for Presenters

Types of Proposals

The following is a brief description of each type of proposal:

Posters: This year, we will have a virtual poster hall! This will include brief (two minute) audio descriptions of the poster, as well as a chat for participants to ask questions.

Long synchronous sessions: 40 minute live/synchronous presentation, with time for questions at the end of the session.

Short synchronous sessions: 10-12 minute presentation, with time for questions at the end of the session.

Asynchronous sessions (short/long): This can be a video or any other kind of asynchronous material. We are willing to accept proposals of various formats, so be creative! Material will need to be able to be accessed via a link, and this will be available on the TPC schedule. Length may not apply if your "presentation" is not a video; think instead of how long participants will need to absorb your material.

*Note: If you require specific technology for your session, be sure to include that information in your proposal submission.

Evaluation Criteria

The TPC committee is looking for a mixture of sessions that will appeal to a wide audience and that reflect the theme and streams. Please be sure to explain in the statement field how your session reflects the theme/streams. Session proposals will be evaluated for acceptance based on the following criteria:

  • Currency and/or Innovativeness
  • Relevancy to theme and audience
  • Clarity of abstract
  • Evidence of engaging participants
