TESL Canada 2012: Graduate Students Symposium
Navigating the Landscapes of TESL
Thursday, October 11, 2012

The organizing committee of the TESL Canada 2012 Conference is excited to offer a new component to this year’s conference which is being held at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC.  This year, in addition to other pre-conference activities on Thursday, October 11th there will be a one-day symposium for students who are currently or recently involved in studies related to the research and/or teaching of English.  The symposia is open for all to register for and features:

- numerous presentations from students from across Canada and internationally
- Penny Ur as the Graduate Students Symposium keynote speaker
- networking and collaborative opportunities with participants
- registration for this pre-conference event is limited and the $60 fee includes snacks and lunch

We’re planning a full day of activities and encourage all TESL students at any level (certificate, diploma, masters, or doctoral) to share your work or simply attend to network and discover what others are doing in your field.

The highlight of the day will be the attendance of Penny Ur who will be giving the keynote address for the symposium.  This will be an excellent opportunity for students to spend some time with one of the most prolific authors in our field.
