To learn about, participate in, and have fun with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, the TRU Sustainability Office, in conjunction with TRU World’s IDays, has planned the following list of exciting and sustainability-related events:
Tuesday, March 7
Green Drinks at The Den - Think Global Act Local on the SDGs
Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: The Den in the Campus Activity Centre
Meet with members of Transition Kamloops and James Gordon (TRU Sustainability Office) for an evening of lively conversation surrounding the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and all things 'green’. Come for as little or as long as you like. Enjoy complimentary appies with your drink purchase. No RSVP required.

Films For Change series – MOTHERLOAD
Time: Doors open 6:30 p.m., film starts at 7:15 p.m.
Location: TRU Alumni Theatre in the Clocktower
MOTHERLOAD captures a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of modern life, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote.

Thursday, March 9
SDGs and Global Super Snacks
Time: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: The Grand Hall in the Campus Activity Centre
Tickets: FREE
Event is open to everyone (staff, students and community members)

Discuss, learn about and get involved with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals - all while enjoying classic snacks from 17 nations! To lead the discussion at your table, there will be a subject-area expert from TRU or Kamloops regarding each of the 17 SDGs. Also included at the event is a fun online contest to win great sustainability swag, an SDG Pledge Photo Booth, and a chance to learn about sustainability research done at TRU. After the event, discussion notes will culminate in one action item, to be implmented by ESAC at TRU, for each of the 17 SDGs.
Friday, March 10
TRU Clothing Swap and Repair
Free Clothes! Free Repairs!
Time: 11 a.m. 4 p.m.
Location: TRU Library Makerspace in House of Learning (Floor 1)
Partners for this event: Kamloops Repair Café, TRU Eco Club, TRU Makerspace, and the TRU Sustainability Office
This two-part event is open to all students, staff and faculty at TRU. We are currently seeking donations of clean and gently used clothing and textiles. Please drop of all clean and gently used articles of clothing or textiles to the following TRU locations by March 7:

TRU Library Makerspace
Brown Family House of Learning, behind Tim Hortons from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the March 10 event, you are welcome to come and take anything you need – for free! In addition, members of the Kamloops Repair Café team will be on site to help you with the repair or alteration of any clothing item you have wither it be brought from home or, picked up at the swap event.
