As a public body, Thompson Rivers University is subject to the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

On March 2, 2018, Thompson Rivers University, along with members of the Research Universities Council of British Columbia met with the Minister of Citizens’ Services, the Honorable Jinny Sims. The meeting was at the Minister’s request, and purpose of the meeting was to participate in a roundtable discussion on opportunities to improve access to information procedures for requests received under the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
Discussion topics included Section 30.1 of FIPPA, replying to access requests, and the FIPPA in general.
