Diploma / Master of Education
You can take two programs simultaneously: the Respiratory Therapy Diploma and the Master of Education.
The respiratory therapy curriculum fulfils the professional requirements needed to become a respiratory therapist while the master's degree prepares educational leaders and capable researchers for a variety of roles in education, health care, private industry and government. The Master of Education program offers thesis, final project or capstone course options.
The costs for this stream are based on the costs of each of the individual programs.
Students interested in this option must:
- Qualify and meet the requirements for the fast-track diploma option.
- Meet the requirements for the MEd program and be accepted into the MEd program.
When applying, please indicate on your application where it asks regarding the program: RT/MEd stream. Application deadline for this stream is Feb. 1. There are limited seats available. For more information, contact Linda Mueller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: Admission to the Diploma/Master of Education stream does not equal admission to the fast-track diploma option. Fast-track acceptance means you will enter clinical year after one year at TRU. Acceptance into the Diploma/Master of Education stream means you will enter clinical after at least two years at TRU. If you change your academic/career path (e.g. you decide to just do the diploma and not the Master of Education) you cannot switch into the the fast-track stream without first applying for that stream. You are not guaranteed a seat in the fast-track stream.
