APS NWS 2022 Conference
Thompson Rivers University is excited to be hosting the APSNW Section meeting June 3-4, 2022. This conference offers a breadth of physics presentations, from the sub-atomic to the cosmic!
WHERE: The conference will take place in the Brown Family House of Learning on the TRU campus.

The APS has a reciprocal agreement with CAP, so CAP membes can attend at APS rates. If you are a CAP member, then please use this form to register.
We will provide means to register the day of the conference.

Friday June 3 from 1-2pm Solar Telescope viewing. (Weather perimitting). Grab your lunch and join us at TRUs observatory where we will be viewing sunspots.
Saturday June 4 from 3-4 pm. The first ever APSNW section 3 point shooting competition. (Weather permitting). Join us for a fun afternoon of 3 point shooting. Center of campus.
Poster Details
Poster boards are roughly 3ft in width and 4ft tall. The boards will be able to accomodate wider posters, but it is suggested you create poster no wider than 3ft.

Travel to Kamloops:
By road: Kamloops is in the interior of BC, roughly 4hrs NE of Vancouver, but can also be reached from the south via highway 97 through the Okanagan, or from the North via highways 5 and 1.
By air: Fly directly into Kamloops Airport. Taxi service from the airport will be about $30.
There is a shuttle service: Airport Shuttle
Where to stay?
There are several hotels a short walk to the university: Best Western Plus, Ramada Inn, Knights Inn, Panorama.
There are a limited number of student housing rooms, which are roughly half the cost of a regular hotel room. Details can be found here: Conference Student Dormitory Rooms
What to do?
If you are looking for others things to do in Kamloops, or are planning on bringing a signficant other, here are some suggestions:
