Bridge (WAFA to WFR)/Open Recertification – 4 days
WAFA to WFR Bridge course upgrades the Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) to a Wilderness First Responder (WFR). This course must be taken within 3 years of receiving the WMA International WAFA certification or an equivalent from another provider. This is also an Open Recertification is for those with a current WFR certification or an equivalent certificate from another provider of a wilderness medical training of 64 hours or longer. Current WMA International Wilderness EMTs may also use this course to recertify the wilderness portion of their certification. Please inform TRU of this when registering for the course.

Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) – 4 days
Wilderness Advance First Aid is a comprehensive medical training course designed for recreationalist, wilderness leader, and professionals who venture into remote and challenging environments. This course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive time period.

Wilderness First Responder (WFR) – 8 days
Wilderness First Responder is ideal medical training for outdoor educators, guides, SAR team members, and anyone who works or plays in remote areas. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical, and includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary.
